    We have a great opportunityfor a Technical Manager to join our team within Vistry Bristol NorthEast, at our Clifton office in Bristol. As our Technical Manager youwill be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to designdevelopment, working within a team environment from the project'sinception through to its completion. You will be tasked with thecontrol of the complete design process involving the management ofconsultants, management of design input from other external parties,liaison with the relevant statutory and local authorities, includingliaison with Clients and Client's representatives. You will take thelead on material selection / approval, commenting on constructiondetailing, checking consultant and sub-contractors designs forbuildability and compliance with statutory criteria / guidelines etc.,thus ensuring that projects meet the Employer's Requirements. You willhave excellent base level of technical knowledge, including a goodworking knowledge of the Building Regulations, Planning and thefunding criteria relevant to the Affordable Housing in particular,i.e. Secure By Design, HQI's, BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes,London Housing Design Guide, NHF Guidelines, Wheelchair Standards etc.A good knowledge of the residential development sector is alsorequired, in terms of completion of site appraisals, design guidance,preparation of specification(s), NHBC regulations and planningguidance and policy etc.

    • Recommend appointment ofconsultants
    • Control the design process, from planningapplication through to project completion
    • Ensure consultantsprepare detailed design in accordance with Employers Requirement andContractors Proposals.
    • Manage and review the designdevelopment process ensuring value engineering and buildability areconsidered.
    • To ensure timely registration with warrantyproviders i.e. NHBC, Robust Details and Building RegulationApplication.
    • Manage the preparation, approval anddistribution of the Health and Safety File/Operating and MaintenanceManuals.
    • To ensure timely completion and issue of technicalassessments, CfSH/BREEAM information, warranties, certificates and thelike.
    • To ensure timely registration with warranty providersi.e. NHBC, Robust Details and Building Regulation Application.
    • Review design development to allow construction of works tofollow safety working practices and be in accordance with currentlegislation, Group Policy and Procedures.
