- Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy to a complex caseload of patients in the Emergency Department at St. Thomas' Hospital.
- Manage complex cases using advanced clinical reasoning and a client-centred approach.
- Lead and supervise team members, including students on placements.
- Contribute to service developments and maintain connections with relevant clinical groups.
- Manage patients in the Emergency department with diverse diagnoses using advanced clinical decision-making.
- Undertake assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate expertise in various assessments and interventions to support patient care.
- Lead and supervise team members, participate in service developments, and engage with clinical interest groups.
- Handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
- HPC Registration
- Masters level training in specialist area or significant practical experience
- Senior Level Clinical Experience
- Continued professional development and ability to supervise junior staff
- Audit, research, and service development experience
- 2-3 years in Emergency department, Elderly care, General medicine, Community
- Specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy processes

Job summary
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic transdisciplinary therapy team in the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate should be adept at providing patient-centred care, particularly in admission avoidance, and possess strong clinical assessment and treatment skills. Additionally, flexibility, leadership abilities, and a commitment to patient care and staff development are essential.
This role involves working extended hours, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis within the emergency department.
