Marketing Publications Associate - Oxford, United Kingdom - Oxford Nanopore Technologies

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is headquartered at the Oxford Science Park outside Oxford, UK, with satellite offices and a commercial presence in many global locations across the US, APAC and Europe.

Oxford Nanopore employs from multiple subject areas including nanopore science, molecular biology and applications, informatics, engineering, electronics, manufacturing and commercialisation. The management team, led by CEO Dr Gordon Sanghera, has a track record of delivering disruptive technologies to the market.

Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis, in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-long read lengths. Our goal is to enable the analysis of any living thing, by anyone, anywhere

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic self-starter to join the team responsible for publications management and the communication of Nanopore technology use cases. The role will include publications content generation for both internal and external communications, to drive lead generation and fuel market expansion, as well as accelerate product adoption and usage by existing customers.

The individual will be working with teams both within and outside of Global Marketing to ensure timely production of relevant content to support marketing and commercial activities. This role is hybrid, with expectations of the successful candidate coming to our site in Oxford at least once per week.

    The details...

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for leading and processing Nanopore research publications – recording in both internal databases and keeping current on the website.
  • Perform ongoing analysis and report out on key publications metrics as required by sub-teams through to senior leadership.
  • Identify high-impact publications, and communicate their content through the preparation of summaries, presentation slides, and reports, for visibility and use by marketing and commercial teams.
  • Prepare talking points and counter messaging for media and Corporate Communications
  • Ensure that publications are used and integrated into innovative and engaging content for multi-disciplinary marketing campaigns in a way that aligns with subject matter and research focus areas, e.g. blogs.
  • Contribute to internal meetings, such as monthly publications meetings, delivering key stats and updates to the marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the establishment of data analysis methods on publications by product, research area, region, KOLs, and other attributes, bringing and translating publication insights to the company.
  • Use publications to contribute to agenda and speaker selection for Oxford Nanopore events.
  • Communicate with external vendors as required, to ensure timely and accurate production of deliverables.
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
  • What we are looking for...

We'll expect you to demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to problem solve, work independently and have a keen eye for detail. It is crucial that you have excellent written communication skills, with a clear understanding of the power of storytelling and the ability to quickly and accurately simplify sophisticated information for a range of audiences.

In addition, you will be self-motivated and can work proactively with multi-disciplinary teams across the business to achieve goals. You can work efficiently with external agencies and internal stakeholders as this is key to ensuring that Oxford Nanopore's presence is both strong and innovative. You'll also hold a degree in molecular biology or equivalent science degree, and preferably have a PhD in a relevant subject area. Knowledge of genomics and sequencing technologies would be ideal, as would previous experience in marketing or marketing communications.

We offer outstanding benefits to include an attractive bonus, generous pension contributions, private healthcare and an excellent starting salary. Based within beautiful, landscaped surroundings with tree-lined walks, water features and a lake, all of which make for a wonderful working environment.

If you are looking to utilise your skills to really make a difference to humankind, then consider joining our team and apply today
