    The Clinical Pharmacy Service at King's is highly respected across the Trust and our staff work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to advance patient care. We are patient-centred, research-oriented, progressive and innovative, and work alongside senior managers and clinicians to provide comprehensive directorate services.

    The successful candidate will be part of the Pharmacy Clinical Services team, who lead the Clinical Pharmacy Service by; overseeing recruitment, workforce management; responding to medicine shortages as well as developing and auditing clinical standards against approved policies and procedures.

    Main duties of the job

    Key activities of the post holder will include:

  • Respond to enquiries from the Clinical Pharmacy teams and wider multi-disciplinary teams
  • Deliver training to pharmacy staff in relation to approved policies and procedures
  • Participate in recruitment and wider workforce planning
  • Manage rotas for the Clinical Pharmacy Service
  • Support the on-call service by providing clinical support, training and guidance
  • Participate in clinical audit and research, risk management and clinical guideline development
  • Develop clinical and operational plans for the management of medicine shortages for the trust
  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Clinical Services
  • The post will provide many opportunities for personal and professional development, both clinically and managerially. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate initiative, innovation and effective teamwork within a busy environment. Previous experience as a clinical pharmacist, and directorate pharmacy, as well as operational experience and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for the role. Candidates should have successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent). An independent prescribing qualification and experience of staff management are advantageous.
