    About the role

    We are an innovative high-tech next-generation telecommunications start-up based in the Surrey area, actively seeking exceptionally talented engineers to join our dynamic team. As part of this role, your focus will span the entire development lifecycle, from concept through to volume production. You will be engaged in every aspect of the development process to ensure successful outcomes. We are seeking candidates with a flexible working attitude, a team player who can also demonstrating the ability to work autonomously and take responsibility in a dynamic environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop power amplifiers for 4G/5G radio products, considering factors such as linearity, efficiency, and thermal performance.
    • Conduct simulations and modelling to ensure the performance and stability of PA designs.
    • Participate in the full life cycle of Radio product development, from specification and design through implementation, testing and support.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and perform RF simulations to optimise system performance.
    • Coordinate design review activities to ensure that designs meet their requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware and software and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of PA front end design into overall product design.
    • Conduct testing and validation of power amplifiers, identifying and addressing any issues during the development process.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the Front-end design, including design specifications, debug guide and user manuals.
    • Work closely with manufacturing teams to support the transition of PA designs into production.
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in 5G and RF power amplifiers.
    • Develop/maintain supplier relationships.

    Candidate requirements

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering or related fields.
    • Over 6 years' proven Industrial experience in RF power amplifier design, with a focus on 4G/5G technologies.
    • In-depth knowledge of RF and microwave circuit design, including PA architectures and topologies.
    • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ADS, AWR) for RF power amplifiers and LNA.
    • Experience with gallium nitride (GaN) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) technologies.
    • Experience with Doherty amplifier design, DPD, CFR and radio systems architectures.
    • Experience with PCB layout and design considerations for RF power amplifiers
    • Experience with testing and characterization of RF power amplifiers using network analysers and other relevant equipment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
