    Description
    TruSIP are a Hosted Telephony and Trunking ITSP (Information Telecommunications Service Provider), operating an in-house built IP Communications Platform.

    Differing from my previous work on large scale, high velocity communications networks, TruSIP Specialised in Trunking for On-Premises PBX systems and Cloud Hosted IPPBX's.

    With 80%+ of the customer base being healthcare and medical sector customers, the importance of a powerful, resillient network is paramount.

    I worked this position from October 2019 until the end of February 2022.
    My place in the company:

    My projects here included Large Billing API integrations, datacentre onboarding and architecture, BGP multihoming and failover routing, Linux server management and building, fibre interconnections, 802.1q VLAN structuring, Dockerised microservice implementations, network security and auditing, SQL Cluster implementations, IPv4/v6 engineering, LAMP/LEMP stack creation, Asterisk Voice gateway builds, OpenSIPS SBC management, Multi-vendor IP PBX implementations, and much more in my time here.

    My day-to-day responsibilities are that of managing and monitoring the network infrastructure, and creating monitoring tools to ensure that network load is correctly allocated.

    Large project that I have undertaken here include converting a lot of older services, running on large server infrastructure, into containerised microservice implementations, allowing the systems they run on to be much more efficient and reducing large overheads of scripting work.

    It is also my responsibility to manage our 4 data centre locations, ensuring that any relevant works are planned and that new equipment and services are implemented as efficiently as possible to ensure zero-downtime.

    I have also re-written large chunks of our voice routing codebase to squeeze a large performance increase out of existing equipment, along with connecting a lot of services to central automation systems, allowing all our staff to perform large scale infrastructure tasks by doing something as simple as sending a Slack message.
