    British Rowing – 'Ready to Row' Project Co-Ordinator (Contract)

    British Rowing is working in partnership with regions, clubs, Youth Rowing projects and local community groups to create opportunities for individuals and groups to build the skills and confidence to enjoy rowing on the water. A key emphasis to this work is how we work together to reach beyond the traditional rowing audiences.

    British Rowing is looking to review, consolidate and update its "Learn to Row" resources to support an increase in the number of beginner-friendly courses on offer. The review should draw upon best practice and consider the pre and post "Learn to Row" transitions a participant will go through. This contract role will coordinate and drive this project to completion by late April 2024.

    Please note this project is open to an individual or an organisation to deliver. An agreed and consistent project lead will be required at all times.

    Responsibilities

    • Research into the current capacity and delivery of Learn to Rows in England.
    • The creation of:
      – Delivery model (e.g. course timetable, financial model, course delivery requirements including prompts to self-identify and manage delivery pinch points and participant exit options).
      – Promotional and marketing materials
      – Instructor training module
      – Instructor assessment methodology
      – Teaching materials inc. session plans (linked to the Rower Development Guide)
      – 'Ready to Row' assessment standard and methodology (linked to the Rower Development guide)
    • Agree and align an appropriate British Rowing membership product
    • Lead engagement sessions with pilot locations.

    Requirements

    • Experience working/volunteering in a rowing environment with knowledge and experience of the rowing community and rower transitions
    • Experience of delivering "Learn to Row" programmes, or programmes that have helped introduce and gain mass participation engagement
    • Can evidence capability to deliver projects through to completion
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    • Experience of working with volunteers and coaches.
