    Description

    Head of Group Commercial

    One of our reputable SME clients in Leicester are looing for a Head of Group Commercial to join their scaling business This is a senior position within a rapidly expanding organisation, demanding commercial acumen, flexibility, resilience, and a hands-on approach. We are seeking an individual capable of identifying opportunities to enhance commercial performance across all areas and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to drive improvements.

    You will be comfortable accepting profit improvement targets and leveraging analysis and collaboration to identify areas of value enhancement. This may involve optimizing customer-facing activities, enhancing procurement and operational efficiency, or safeguarding our position through robust contracts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide commercial leadership and support to accelerate the Group's performance across its various activities.
    • Support Business Unit Managing Directors as required, including reviewing and controlling terms and conditions with customers, brokers, and suppliers, conducting ad-hoc analysis to identify value opportunities, and managing projects to deliver new outcomes.
    • Maintain the Group's contract procurement and contracting processes, ensuring best value is obtained through suppliers, and clear business ownership and accountability exist for key relationships.
    • Provide oversight on any commercial risks against the Group, ensuring appropriate ownership and lines of defence.
    • Analyze commercial opportunities and business projects, identifying areas to add further value and areas requiring improvement.
    • Maintain the Group's legal, regulatory, and contracts register to protect the Group's position.
    • Serve as the key contact point for legal matters, interfacing with third-party advisors as required.
    • Lead key commercial projects, such as major investments, analysis of new business or partnership arrangements, and change initiatives.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    1. Preference for experience and qualification in Accountancy, Commercial, or Legal background.
    2. Understanding of industry dynamics within the utilities sector.
    3. Proven track record of developing and implementing efficient commercial strategies to drive value through the organization.
    4. Commercial mindset with a proactive attitude.
    5. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of leadership success in an agile and dynamic high-growth business or from a large organization, where they can see a clear link between their performance and value creation.
