    JOB PURPOSE

    This is an exciting opportunity in building a network of customers with cold calling and existing customers. Then continuing to build a strong and long lasting relationship with our customers, hauliers, and suppliers to achieve maximum orders in both volume and profit.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Proactively call prospective (First) and existing (Second) customers to promote our products and generate leads for the External Sales team UK wide.
    • Use project sourcing systems to generate leads
    • Action sales emails and document any follow ups.
    • Raise Purchase Orders
    • To maintain the procurement\live record, files, or books for all customer direct-to-site orders, and our own yards - Nationally.
    • Support with stock control, rolling stock count and stock take.
    • To obtain the best freight rate whilst not compromising on service.
    • Receipt, vetting and loading of all suppliers & transport company invoices.
    • To establish with customers all relevant information including who will be placing the order, competition price levels of materials required, specification required, start date and delivery requirements, site contact, name and telephone number.
    • Establish and build healthy relationships with (Customers), suppliers, hauliers, and colleagues.
    • To liaise with each 'YardsMan/location' & 'Area Sales Representatives' on information obtained and required by them.
    • Specific tasks as directed by line managers.
    • Support with Monthly update of figures - containers & costs.
    • Liaise with sales team to identify potential new business.
    • To promote the company's service, product range and brand/image.
    • To report to manager on competitor activity.
    • Any other additional tasks as may be required by the sales representative or manager.
    • Maintain a clean business - resolving queries and managing your own business Admin.

    KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

    • Proficient use of: MS Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint) - Essential.
    • UK transportation knowledge - Preferred
    • Previous experience in a Sales environment, with a great telephone manner - Essential.
    • Happy to cold call (phone sales) and find new prospects - Essential.
    • Be a good communicator with a high level of numeracy and attention to detail - Essential.
    • Be a good team player, with the ability to work autonomously when required.
    • Great listening skills & able to prioritize tasks.
    • A quick thinker and great at problem-solving.
