    What you will do in your working day

    The University of London is inviting applications for a Financial Accountant Apprentice. As part of an essential support team, you will be assisting the Group Accountant with year-end and month-end tasks. After 12-18 months the opportunity to gain experience in other parts of Finance will be facilitated, options include Performance Reporting, Treasury and Transactional teams. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to a variety of accounting tasks and responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities (not limited to): Financial Accounting
    • Assisting with the production of the annual consolidated and individual statutory accounts of the University, the Unified Trust Fund and the trading subsidiaries to the applicable HEFCE SORP, Charity SORP and UK GAAP standards.
    • To assist with the integrity of the monthly TBs and Balance Sheets. In particular: Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences.

Professional Level: This level teaches you how to apply technical knowledge to real-life scenarios. You'll deepen your knowledge of financial reporting, audit and assurance, tax compliance, finance management, business strategy, plus more. What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship By the end of the Apprenticeship, we would expect you to be able to: Take on any typical newly qualified accountant role such as assistant Financial Accountant or Management Accountant.
