    Position Summary:

    The Senior BI Developer will be responsible for expanding MSI's technical capability and automation practices within its Business Intelligence organization. He/she will act as a developer focused on helping the BI team accelerate delivery of content through creating and maintain BI-Focused database structures, scripts, stored procedures, automation/scheduling capabilities, and various programmatic methods to support data wrangling, visualization, and advanced Power BI capabilities. This role will help drive reporting automation strategy and improving velocity of BI deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, direct experience with Azure automation tools such as Power Automate, and advanced SQL skills.

    Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop Power Automate workflows and integrations to automate business processes and improve delivery.
  • Develop stored procedures and/or scripts to automate manual and/or recurring processes.
  • Develop database objects to optimize BI data structures and processes.
  • Develop interfaces in Power Apps, as needed, to support BI applications.
  • Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organization.
  • Support Data Analysts in the development of advanced dashboard capabilities that may require programming/scripting, e.g. pulling in 3rd party/API data.
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and other database objects to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse or data mart.
  • ·Collaborating with colleagues for the purpose of collecting and structuring data.

    ·Collect, audit, compile, and validate data from multiple sources.

  • Communicate internally and with clients externally to collect and validate data and answer questions regarding reports and data.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the BI Development processes and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage various projects.
  • Recommends new practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Provides solutions that may set a precedent or have a significant impact.
  • Support the broader business team from the standpoint of ad-hoc reporting requests, complex queries, and evaluating the business.
  • Assist in how we handle reporting or data requests.
  • Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

    ·A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but equivalent years' experience is considered.

  • Must have experience building BI solutions in the Azure ecosystem with tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI
  • Advanced SQL / T-SQL experience.
  • Programing skills in PowerQuery, DAX, M preferred (python nice to have)
  • At least five to seven years of data-related or analytical work experience.
  • Desired MS Azure skills and some skills in Data Factory, Databricks and Synapse Analytics
  • Ability to grasp database structures and understand the underlying relationships and dependencies.
  • Comfortable compiling data integration from multiple sources; performing quality control on data sets; identifying and scrutinizing anomalies and/or outliers in the data; ability to manipulate data and complete required analysis.
