    Description
    Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Facilities Manager to join our team based on site in Aberystwyth University Student Accommodation
    Manage the day to day planned and reactive maintenance( Hard Services) activity together with the allocation of work to the on site technical team
    Act an as Authorised Person for Low Voltage systems and in accordance with Balfour Beattys Electrical Safe System of Work
    Verify, approve and manage all PPM Activity supply chain providers and subcontractors activities.
    Maintain Statutory Compliance for systems, activities and associated documentation within contract scope.

    Prepare Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for all maintenance tasks, validate and authorise RAMS information from supply chain.

    Manage and oversee all electronic office, technical, operational, financial operating systems
    Continuous improvement of all service delivery issues.
    Management of Services and Resources in accordance with Contract and legislative requirements .
    Comply with the project/company Health and Safety Management System and Statutory Compliance for all maintenance activities
    Act an as Authorised Person for low Voltage systems and in accordance with Balfour Beattys Electrical Safe System of Work
    Act as the Responsible Person (RP) for all L8 activities and documentation management
    Manage the digital and paper based permit-to-work system.
    Supervise and instruct colleagues and subcontractors.

    Implement H&S Management System in compliance with H&S legal requirements and industry best practice ensuring OHSAS 18001 certification and other accreditations are maintained.

    Provide energy management
    Commitment to Balfour Beatty Investment Information Security Policy.
    Experience of managing Hard Services in a FM Contract environment
    Experience of working in a PFI contract.

    Aberystwyth Student Accommodation is a 32-year concession which Balfour Beatty designed, built, financed, and now maintains. The 1,000 student study bedrooms were primarily built to accommodate undergraduate students.

    Residents will have access to their own en-suite bathroom as well as a shared kitchen and soft seating area.

    The maintenance aspect of the contract provides a range of hard and soft services which includes, M&E, planned and reactive maintenance, lifecycle, soft services encompassing Grounds and Gardens, Window Cleaning, and Pest control.

    Background to Balfour Beatty Investments
    We develop, finance, manage and operate public and private infrastructure projects.
    We are responsible for raising and structuring finance to help customers achieve goals that might otherwise be unattainable.

    We also invest directly in infrastructure assets, particularly where there are opportunities to manage the project upon completion and enhance operational efficiency.

    We work closely with other SBUs to secure and deliver these projects, accessing the wide range of expertise and the strength of Balfour Beattys balance sheet to maximise the value from each opportunity.

    In the UK, we manage and operate a substantial portfolio of infrastructure projects covering a wide range of sectors including healthcare, highways and street lighting, student accommodation, residential/PRS, energy and transmission, waste and biomass.
