    ROLE- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

    LOCATION- West Berkshire

    TERM- Permanent

    SALARY- £45,000-£60,000 per annum, dependent on experience

    My client designs and manufactures products and systems within the Renewable Energy sector. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in West Berkshire on a permanent basis.

    The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

    • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Engineering position in a manufacturing environment
    • Qualified with a Degree / Masters / PhD or similar in Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related relevant subject
    • Passionate about Renewable Energy and making a difference
    • Strong technical skills with experience of FMEA, DFMA and HAZOP
    • Excellent analytical skills, with knowledge of hand calculations, FEA, ANSYS, stress analysis, particle fluid simulation etc.
    • Able to apply GD&T
    • Strong experience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
    • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Proficient using MS Office
    • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
    • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

    The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

    • involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept to production
    • and developing new products
    • CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
    • testing, verification, validation and simulation
    • varied and bespoke products and subcomponents
    • with manufacturing providers
    • involved in final assembly of products
    • the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
    • 3D models and drawings
    • parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
    • drawings for sign off
    • in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
