    Description

    This is a fixed term 2 year role (or secondment) to implement and manage an exciting and important programme of work transforming the strategic relationship between the Council and the voluntary and community sector in the City.

    The role is within the Voluntary Sector Grant Giving team which is part of Integrated Commissioning and Public Health. We are a small team that have key areas of responsibility and development for:

  • Strategic role with the VCS sector
  • 4 grant programme: Core Grant Aid programme supporting the voluntary sector, Connecting Communities supporting global majority organisations, social eating and lunch clubs, People Keeping Well 'programme' which is one of Sheffield's social prescribing initiatives connecting people to non medical forms of support, Holiday Activities and Food

    • It is a varied role and we expect the successful candidate to be flexible and responsive to a diverse agenda. The types of work / a typical week might look like:

  • Writing strategy, policy and reports for governance meetings and boards
  • Tracking and maintaining project plans
  • Facilitating and hosting workshops and meeting with council officer and / or VCS partners
  • Working closely with officers and voluntary sector partners building relationships and seeking solutions that achieve outcomes for residents of the city
  • Meeting staff / partners and shadowing services including voluntary sector partners
