- Develop the AgeUK's mission and implement strategic plans to ensure long-term sustainability and growth
- Oversee the financial health of the charity and ensure expenditure is controlled in line with agreed budgets
- Ensure the Safety and Safeguarding of all staff and users
- Work with the Chair to develop and implement appropriate recruitment, induction, support and training for trustees
- Ensure all relevant legislative changes are tracked and implemented for the organisation
- Develop effective relationships with stakeholders, the public, and the voluntary sector
- Ensure the organisation is a leading partner in the development of strategies and plans affecting its sector by maintaining relationships with key agencies
- Maximise opportunities to promote the service to the public, ensuring the organisation is presented appropriately and professionally
- Champion service users on relevant local forums, ensuring that their views are part of planning and policy development
- Chartered Management Institute level 5 qualification, or equivalent
- Demonstrable senior management and leadership experience
- Track record of securing income from a variety of sources
- Experience of developing and implementing business plans, quality assurance, and meeting targets

They offer a range of support services, build relationships with local government, and offer specialist training for volunteers to ensure they provide an exemplary service.
You will be joining an accomplished and well-respected organisation, taking charge of a highly skilled senior management team, and working closely with the Chair and board of trustees to implement strategic objectives and bolster future development. You will demonstrate a strong and shrewd leadership style and be an exemplary symbol of the AgeUK's values to all staff and volunteers.
Alongside spearheading the expansion of the organisations staff and reach, you will maintain a positive working culture and take proactive measures to ensure a positive reputation both internal and external.
This role would suit a decisive, passionate, and CMI qualified individual, with demonstrable experience in a senior leadership role. You should also be able to constructively challenge your own ideas and those of your peers. You will be a confident leader with the ability to motivate and inspire individuals of varying seniority to continuously grow and improve. In addition, previous experience in a director or C-suite role, or knowledge of charity-relevant regulatory framework would provide a significant advantage.
This is a rare and exceedingly exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to take on a challenging and predominant role within the third sector and leverage their skillset to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people, whilst playing a role in AgeUk's national mission.
On offer is a salary of c. £55k and 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
