    The risk department forms a critical role of providing independent challenge, oversight, and support to our colleagues in the "1st line".

    We operate in a collaborative way to impart our expertise to help the bank achieve its stretching goals in a meaningful way that proportionately mirrors best market practices.

    We often get involved in projects and discussions which are out of our core roles and responsibilities; As our Capital Specialist, you'll be more than just a team member – you'll be a cornerstone in our mission to revolutionise how we manage risk and capital.

    You'll dive into the depths of capital management, challenge norms, and champion innovative solutions that keep us ahead of the curve.

    You'll be working under the Head of Treasury and Prudential Risk, meaning there will be a great opportunity to share experience and knowledge.

    You will be bringing the capital expertise whilst they bring the liquidity and interest rate risk expertise. we want you to help optimise it. Dive into our business plans, play with RWA and ROE calculations, and be the mastermind behind impactful governance materials.

    Work with various teams, from the others in risk and colleagues in 1st line. Your ideas will help sculpt our bank's future and please share your knowledge on the way.

    As the regulatory landscapes change; Be the first to spot, adapt, and implement these changes, keeping us agile and informed.

    Working closely with the bank's Finance team and Regulatory reporting team to review and challenge capital forecasts and other management information they produce.

    You'll review and challenge whilst making recommendations as to how we can improve our risk appetite and metrics (including the calibration of such metrics).

    This will also need ongoing monitoring, using your analytical capabilities.
    You'll support on all regulatory deliverables relating to capital which include:
    # You'll be an influencer in stress testing (and reverse stress testing) working closely with the head of treasury and prudential risk to understand capital implications and any subsequent liquidity impacts. Conducting oversight reviews, thematic reviews and preparing appropriate presentations for senior management, the Board, and various committees.
    # Supporting the wider risk department
    # A good knowledge of practical capital risk management.
    Good knowledge of balance sheets, income statement dynamics, the general ledger as well as capital issues and drivers.
    Knowledge of a range of financial products including Significant Risk Transfers (SRT) along with their capital implications
    You'll be comfortable using Excel and other programs to manipulate and review complex data.
    Ideally a financial qualification (preferably accountancy related).
    Experience in regulatory reporting and risk environments? Is a team player who can also fly solo on projects.
    Proactive when it comes to regulatory changes and is keen to share findings and forthcoming developments.
