Position Summary
The sediment transport postdoctoral research associate conducts numerical modeling studies to explore the role that sediment transport plays on morphodynamics, contaminant exposure, and /or geochemical processes in environments such as the northern Gulf of Mexico shelf and estuaries; and / or other coastal waters. The postdoctoral scholar will join a project focused on sediment response to fairweather conditions and storm events, and will be expected to both lead independent modeling projects and work as part of a team that includes other numerical modelers. The postdoctoral scholar will join a team using the Regional Ocean Modeling System ( ROMS ) coupled within the Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Waves Sediment Transport ( COAWST ) framework.
The responsibilities of the position also include interaction with other researchers, communication of research results, and development of independent research topics consistent within the goals of the sediment modeling group.Required Qualifications
