Description
Career grade planner position in the Planning Policy team. The grade appointed and progression through the grades will depend upon knowledge and experience. The role includes assisting with preparation of a new Local Plan, supporting preparation of neighbourhood plans and undertaking monitoring and research.

The Local Plan (Part One) was adopted in and the Local Plan (Part Two) was adopted in July . The team have also supported the making of neighbourhood plans, with a further plans under preparation and three plans being reviewed.
The team are currently in the initial stages of preparing a new Local Plan, as well as supporting preparation of neighbourhood plans, preparing development briefs and undertaking monitoring and research.
The friendly and dynamic team area looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Planning Officer to assist with the preparation and implementation of the Local Plan, assist with neighbourhood planning, prepare planning documents and undertake monitoring.
We are looking to recruit a team player who can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of planning and a willingness to learn. Relevant work experience would be an advantage, but this role will provide a great opportunity for you to develop your planning skills and experience. You will work across a variety of different subject areas within a large and diverse borough which boasts an enviable natural and built environment.
This is a career grade role (Grade -) with the grade appointed and progression through the grades dependent upon knowledge and experience.
You will be predominantly home based, with some work undertaken from a modern office within the heart of Chester and other office locations as required. There is a minimum annual leave entitlement of days per year (rising to days after five years continuous service), plus bank holidays.
