    The vacancy

    You will be central to the leadership and management of Outward Bound and realising the ambition set out in The NextHorizon, leading the financial stewardship of the organisation. You will both oversee the management of theorganisation's financial resources and provide leadership in their utilisation to further the charity's mission.You will also be responsible for the organisation's environmental sustainability journey, and for IT, Digital,and trust-wide systems and processes.

    About you

    The successful candidate will be central to the leadership and management of the charity in the coming years workingclosely with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team. You will be astute, collaborative, risk aware, have anattention to detail and thrive on working in a fast paced environment.

    A fully qualified accountant with proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility acrossthe whole finance function, you will have substantial financial leadership and commercial acumen. Experience ina national level organisation of comparable complexity is also required.

    We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as the Business Development Director. You will playa vital role in driving forwards Who Cares? Scotland's vision by leading the development of strategicpartnerships and securing key funding opportunities. As manager for the Fundraising and Partnerships Team, youwill oversee grants, trusts, community fundraising, public tenders, and the setting of income targets. Byforging strong relationships with corporate and external stakeholders, as well as overseeing our strategicaffiliation with the John Lewis Partnership, your role will expand our public education, income generation, andbusiness development aims. To interweave the organisation's development of public education training programmeswith our core fundraising mission, you will also manage our Creating Communities that Care team, who play avital role in developing our external training offerings.

    As an individual with a background of 5+ years in senior management, preferably in the non-profit sector, you havedemonstrable experience in business development, fundraising, and grant writing. You possess a proven trackrecord of successfully securing high-value grants and partnerships from diverse funding sources, leading on thedevelopment of strategic plans, and reaching key performance targets with accountability to diversestakeholders. As a seasoned manager and mentor, you can also collaborate across organisations, fostering aculture of innovation and continuous improvement amongst your colleagues, our volunteers, and our partnerorganisations. The right candidate for this post will not only bear responsibility for leading core fundingstrategy, but also serve as a spokesperson for the organisation, representing its mission, values, and impact toexternal stakeholders. You are, therefore, committed to child rights and human rights, the successfulimplementation of The Promise, and the belief that young people can make transformative change happen in theirlives if given the opportunity.

    We have office locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paisley, Bellshill, Kilmarnock, and Dundee. There is an expectationthat the post holder will also have a regular presence within the National Office in Glasgow, but home workingis offered as part of our commitment to flexible working. Given the remit of the role, some evening and weekendwork will be necessary, to attend fundraising and member events, as well as Board Meetings.

    To lead the team to develop and deliver the "Hand in Hand" peer befriending, mentoring and buddying project for youngpeople aged 11-24 years in the Girvan area, in particular in support of those with Additional Support Needsthrough both school and youth centre based engagement.

    To deliver a total inclusion programme of social opportunities for young people aged 11-24 years residing in theGirvan area, with different levels of personal intellect, potential, skills and family/ social background.

    To work in partnership with other agencies and families to provide one to one personal development opportunities foryoung people with ASN using a person centred approach.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a new Outreach and Support Worker to join our Aberdeen, Dundee and Fife localityteam, supporting individuals in Aberdeen. Venture Trust works with people experiencing complex lifecircumstances. Through our work, we provide the opportunity for people to recognise their confidence, motivationand core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

    This role will be working across Aberdeen with the potential to be covering the areas of Aberdeenshire and Angus inthe future, where you will be the first person our participants meet. You'll be a caring, dynamic and drivenperson, dedicated to levelling the playing field and equipping people with the tools they need to thrive. You'llbe comfortable and confident working autonomously, working alongside people with complex lives.

    Working across Aberdeen and in the Scottish wilderness, you'll provide bespoke and holistic 1:1 support forparticipants, spending time to get to know them, their strengths and where they want to go. You'll help to shapetheir journeys, navigating 1:1, community and wilderness journey support, always harnessing the benefits of theoutdoors and nature spaces to provide therapeutic benefit. You'll accompany them on wilderness journeys andsupport them to develop employability skills.

    Across Aberdeen, we need you to work closely with referrers and partners to provide joined up support forparticipants, managing the differing needs of your case load, including working with young people andadults.

    As an Outreach and Support Worker, you will:

    • Deliver group activities outdoors in community greenspaces
    • Provide one-to-one support for participants,identifying and removing barriers to participation and supporting towards their individualgoals
    • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, generating referrals for allprogrammes
    • Promote Venture Trust within local communities
    • Support the delivery of wildernessjourney opportunities in Scotland's wilder places
    • Work closely with referral partners and any otherstakeholders to provide joined up support for participants
    • Work within a team structure with hybridworking arrangements

    The role requires a Qualified Accountant who is a solutions-focused and forward-thinking leader with relevantexperience in directly managing and developing multidisciplinary teams that consistently deliver high standards.An accomplished communicator able to build and maintain strong working relationships with a range ofstakeholders, you will also be highly analytical with the ability to get "behind the numbers" to allowwell-informed and commercial decisions. Candidates should bring previous experience of continuous improvementand developing robust financial controls and procedures.
