    We are looking for a locum consultant to join our team for 12 month fixed term period.

    The post will be based at King's College Dental Hospital 4 days of the week with one day at Queen Mary's Hospital and the proposed timetable is attached.

    The post holder will join our team of consultant staff in assessing new patients for consultation, treating a wide range of restorative cases and providing supervision to junior clinical staff.

    The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi–disciplinary team providing and further developing care for restorative dentistry with an emphasis on care for trauma patients referred to King's College Dental Hospital and satellite units.

    In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

    As a senior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.

    Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King's College London
    Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies
    Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
    On the GDC Specialist List in Restorative Dentistry or within six months of eligibility for inclusion
    Fellowship in Dental Surgery or Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery or equivalent
    Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent
    Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Restorative Dentistry
    Training and Experience
    Successful completion of an SAC approved five-year minimum training programme in Restorative Dentistry, or within six months of completion, or equivalent
    Experience of undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and exam preparation at an appropriate level
    Thorough understanding of principles of dental audit. Must have undertaken/supervised and completed audit projects.
    Experience of clinical research. Ability to appraise scientific literature critically. Relevant research experience in one or more aspects of restorative dentistry

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
