    Early Years Manager - Summer Camp - Ely, Cambridgeshire

    Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday – Friday. (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 hours per week)

    Salary: £580.24 - £718.65 salary per week dependent on age, internal/external experience, qualifications, and camp size (February Half Term Contracts to be issued on 2023 wage level. 2024 wage level effective from 1st April.)

    Responsible: Camp Manager, Area Manager and Central Office at Barracudas are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

    EARLY YEARS MANAGER DUTIES

    • Support/Deliver Induction Training and oversee the Set-Up days before Camp
    • Complete paperwork and high-risk activities following Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice
    • Enforce Health and Safety regulations for a secure environment
    • Ensure Early Years Foundation Stage is implemented by planning Explore and Play sessions
    • Designated Person (DP) for Safeguarding (handling Child Protection and safeguarding matters)
    • Update and communicate with Area Managers and Central Office on a regular basis
    • Conduct observations and engage in high-risk activities with Early Years staff while interacting with the children
    • Regularly assess staff's understanding of safeguarding procedures
    • Main point of contact on camp for OFSTED Inspectors
    • Interact with parents, handle administrative tasks, and oversee Early Years staff
    • Ensure site and Baserooms are organized and all equipment is stored properly
    • Evaluate and review staff performance for seasonal appraisals
    • Assist staff in sessions when necessary

    REQUIREMENTS

    • To attend mandatory Senior Training events (refer to contract for more details)
    • Early Years qualified (Primary qualified, CACHE L3, Primary PGCE, BA Primary Education)
    • Early Years' experience in a childcare environment
    • Eligible to work in the UK
    • Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service
    • Provide satisfactory professional/academic references
    • Participate in and deliver Induction Training Day(s) (usually within the 7-day period before camp commences)
    • Complete Online Training annually
    • Coordinate closing procedures at the end of camp
    • Barracudas aim for at least 1/2 seniors to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Fulfill Health and Safety obligations by following specified procedures and safe systems as outlined in manuals and training
    • Be proactive and diligent in addressing safety concerns
    • Prepare for Induction training using relevant manuals
    • Conduct a staff evaluation for each staff member reaching the end of their contract
    • Report Child Protection concerns to a Designated Person at Central Office
    • Ensure staff are informed of any children with additional, medical, or dietary requirements (may require assistance in making appropriate adjustments)
    • Administer necessary medication correctly following EI forms and complete relevant documentation
    • Bring swimwear daily as may be needed for supporting a swimming session
    • The above list does not cover all responsibilities, and you will be expected to handle various tasks as required by your evolving role within the organization and its overall business objectives
