We are seeking a detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and supporting management for decision-making purposes. You will analyse financial data, prepare reports, and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. This role will be predominantly office based with 1 day working from home.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, for management review.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Analyse financial data and metrics to support strategic decision-making by management.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of reports.
• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Participate in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Provide financial support for special projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in management accounting.
• Communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly and understandably.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a management accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
• AAT, ACCA, CIMA qualified (preferable).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including cost accounting and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis using Excel or other relevant software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organisation.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with Sage.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
