    Description

    Community Volunteers Enabling You (COVEY) has operated across Lanarkshire for 32 years supporting 4,500 children,young people and parents/carers to become more resilient, safe and better equipped to reach their fullpotential. COVEY provides 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring and intensive family support.

    This role has lead responsibility for driving strategic growth, through leading on all income generation (identifyingand securing tenders, contracts, grants) and strengthening stakeholder relationships with existing andprospective funders.

    We are looking for someone who has experience of securing and managing high-value partnerships at six figure levelsfrom statutory funders and grant making trusts/foundations. You will also have substantial, proven success ofmeeting ambitious funding targets and have excellent oral/written communication skills with a close attention todetail. You will have the ability to think creatively to drive innovation within the team and be adaptable withthe ability to cope well under pressure and work to deadlines.

    We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who will play a key role in developing and delivering a programof support services and activities for Care Experienced children and young people across WestDunbartonshire.

    This exciting post offers a unique opportunity to develop, deliver and evaluate services, learning opportunities andmentoring activities, that supports care experienced children & young people to reach their fullpotential.

    The main aim of the role is to ensure Y sort it plays an integral role in supporting Care Experienced children &young people with their school, family and community life. We aim to build on the aspirations care experiencedyoung people via The Promise, along with our local partners within West Dunbartonshire Promise Keepers, anestablished group of stakeholders.

    You will be directly managed by Y sort it Head of Services & Development. The postholder will be responsible forthe management of the Y sort it Care Experienced Staff & Volunteer Team.

    Purpose and Objectives

    The postholder will provide critical support to Y sort it, schools, and communities to drive West Dunbartonshire'sIntegrated Childrens Services Plan for care experience children and young people. You will lead and co-ordinatethe team and activities required to do so. With support from West Dunbartonshire Education, Promise Scotland /Corra Foundation and Inspiring Scotland / Intandem - West Dunbartonshire is one of eleven local authorities inScotland to adopt the approach of Intandem Mentoring model and a carryout a Test of Change initiative with theaim to develop a Supportive School Structure (Right to Education) for Care Experienced children and young peopleacross West Dunbartonshire.

    The post holder will have a primary focus on developing & evaluating the impact of learning opportunities, toraise the attainment of care experienced young people and support our established Intandem Volunteer Mentoringprogram, by focusing on children and young people aged 8 to 14 who are subject to a compulsory supervision order(or at-risk of becoming so), living at home or in kinship arrangements (ages 8-16 years).

    You will be responsible for leading, supporting and managing a team of staff and volunteers, and must demonstrablerecent knowledge and experience of the Promise, GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child), UNCRC (United NationsConvention on the Rights of the Child). Experience of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, writing fundingbids, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a Leadership & Management Team.

    The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work will involve working, evenings, school holidays andweekends . The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work may change to respond to the demandsof the work.

    Requirements

    You will have a degree or equivalent in Social Work, Community Education, or in the field of Health or HealthPromotion, or relevant / equivalent experience.

    Responsibilities:

    You will have experience of Community Development approach, relevant experience in a community based/voluntary rolewith children, young people and/ or families. You will have an awareness/experience of primary preventionapproaches and experience of developing and implementing action plans. You will have excellent leadership, oraland written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, goodinterpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders to bring people together. You will have goodassessment and reporting skills with the ability to work with members of the public, to work without constantsupervision, and meet deadlines, to identify and apply for appropriate funding and the ability to work flexiblehours.

    Please note, a driving license is essential for this role.

    This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of VulnerableGroups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVGScheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Y sort it.

    The vacancy

    You will be central to the leadership and management of Outward Bound and realising the ambition set out in The NextHorizon, leading the financial stewardship of the organisation. You will both oversee the management of theorganisation's financial resources and provide leadership in their utilisation to further the charity's mission.You will also be responsible for the organisation's environmental sustainability journey, and for IT, Digital,and trust-wide systems and processes.

    About you

    The successful candidate will be central to the leadership and management of the charity in the coming years workingclosely with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team. You will be astute, collaborative, risk aware, have anattention to detail and thrive on working in a fast paced environment.

    A fully qualified accountant with proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility acrossthe whole finance function, you will have substantial financial leadership and commercial acumen. Experience ina national level organisation of comparable complexity is also required.

    This role will support the CEO, Deputy CEO & Operations Leader and wider Leadership Team (LT) by leading onadministrative, clerical and finance support including HR & Payroll administration, Salesforce CRMupdates/reports, office enquiries, board/LT administration and operations assistance where required.

    We are looking for someone who has experience in office management and administration, with strong interpersonalskills to manage internal and external relationships effectively and appropriately. You will be proficient inthe use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and have an understanding of HR requirements,including relevant policies and procedures, and Health and Safety. Experience using CRM systems and accountingpackages such as Xero would also be desirable.

The DofE Scotland Operations team works with these licensed organisations to build their capacity,support their reach into more marginalised communities and ensure quality and compliance with the Awardframework.

    The DofE Scotland office covers DofE activity across the length and breadth of Scotland, working with over 150Licensed Organisations and over 20,000 young people in the last year alone. Each Operations Officer manages aportfolio based on broad geographic region.

    The role will be field-based and when not attending meetings, employees will work from home. You will need to have anappropriate home office set up and live within the region.
