- To act as deputy to the Lead for Workforce Transformation of Psychological Professions supporting to lead, manage and plan the delivery of Workforce Transformation Strategy for Psychological Professions, the 21st Century Leadership Programme for Psychological Professions, EDI delivery workstreams within Psychological Professions and Workforce QI projects within Psychological Professions and personally provide expert input.
- To liaise with some of the most senior staff, from psychology and other disciplines across the organization to develop the clinical psychology workforce.
- To oversee the delivery of the Psychological Professions CPD programme for the Trust.
- To take a lead on one key area of the Psychological Professions Workforce Strategy and contribute to other areas of the strategy
- To take a lead on developing and evaluating the psychological professions CPD programme across the Trust.
- To support in the delivery of recruitment and retention project plans for the professional group across the trust.
- To support in the delivery of wellbeing and engagement initiatives for psychological professions, including events hosted by the Workforce Transformation Team for the professional group.
- Regular report on the progress and any risks of these plans to the Lead for Psychological Professions Workforce Transformation and relevant stakeholders including formal programme board meetings
- To support in developing strategies and plans which incorporates proactively support the diversification of the psychology and IAPT workforce
- To focus on:- Co-ordinate a CPD programme across the Trust for psychology and IAPT staffDevelop plans that contribute to psychology and IAPT staff recruitment, retention and engagement across the Trust
- To play a key role in supporting and coordinating a CPD programme for psychology and IAPT staff
- Horizon scanning and linking with national training developments and opportunities
- Be up to date and proficient in the use of social media and virtual technologies to support this work.
- To support the development of new roles within psychology and IAPT
- To use workforce and other data to underpin plans and evaluation
- To keep stakeholders up to date on project progress and risks
- To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment, advocating the principles of trauma informed care
- To maintain a strong focus on collaboration and coproduction of the workstream; ensuring all projects understand Service User and staff needs and views
- To receive and provide training, clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate
- To undertake service evaluation, audit, research and policy development as appropriate
- To work as an autonomous professional within appropriate professional guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative clinical psychologist looking to develop leadership experience in Organisational and Workforce Development in Healthcare. The work will involve leading on some key workstreams for developing the psychology workforce in the Trust. The successful candidate will work with the Trust Workforce Transformation Lead for Psychological Professions, the Trust Chief Psychologist, Director of Therapies, senior Psychologists and leaders across the Trust to support the training, recruitment, retention and engagement of psychology staff. The post will also build links with organisations outside of the Trust such as training organisations and professional bodies and also the local communities who we provide services for. The post will offer excellent opportunities to further develop strategic leadership skills.
We especially welcome applications from candidates with the valuable experience of the diverse social and cultural communities the Trust serves as we are seeking to ensure our psychology staffing has greater diversity and better represents local communities. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their career and flourish as a valued member of the psychology staff group. There are also a number of support systems within the Trust including staff peer networks.
Main duties of the job
The initial priorities for the post are:
Co-ordinate a Trust wide CPD programme for Psychology staff
Developing initiatives that support the recruitment, retention and engagement of psychology staff
The post will also make a significant contribution to delivering the aims of the Equality Diversity and Inclusivity strategy for psychology.
The role will lead on developing relationships with psychology staff within the Trust and relevant partners both internally and externally in order to achieve these priorities. The post requires an up to date understanding of clinical psychology training and the professional practice of applied psychology in the NHS.
