    Default job background
    Description

Odin is on a mission to drive human progress by fundamentally reimagining how we invest.

We envision a world where people can vote with their money on what the future looks like, and participate in creating it.

To achieve this, we're building a community-centric platform to launch and invest in venture capital funds & angel syndicates.

We offer investment infrastructure for fund managers, as well as communication features allowing investors to connect & collaborate with each other, and discover & invest in funds and individual deals. You can imagine it a bit like Stripe meets Twitter, for investing.

Our mission is ambitious and underpinned by our values . We're already trusted by over 5,000 VCs, angels and founders, and we are just getting started.

    The Role

Reporting to our Financial Operations Lead, you'll be responsible for:

Owning the SPV Process: Taking charge of our deal and operational finance processes, managing tasks such as setting up legal entities, processing refunds, reconciling accounts, billing customers, managing subscription contracts, tracking KPIs, managing cash flow and FX, dealing with exits, and overseeing other investment events and regulatory reporting

Documentation: Meticulously documenting all finance processes and proposing enhancements and automations to streamline our operations

Implementation of Improvements: Internally implementing finance process improvements and collaborating with the Product team on automation and productisation

New Processes: Collaborating on the implementation of new processes for emerging products, such as new legal structures

Customer Interaction: Directly liaising with customers at every stage of the process, noting feedback and identifying pain points to enhance their experience

This role extends beyond managing day-to-day processes. Your mission to optimise, streamline, and automate existing operations for enhanced efficiency.

    Must-Have Qualities

You have a drive to understand in detail how things fit together. It's not just about execution for you; you want to get into the nuts and bolts of how things are happening and why

You're a problem solver. You diligently resolve any challenges our customers face and act as their strategic partner to ensure they achieve their goals

Your technical mindset sets you apart. Beyond adeptly manoeuvring through spreadsheets, you recognise that to achieve process automation, leveraging technology is essential

You're organised and focused. You know what it takes to get the job done, and you prioritise tasks logically so you're doing the most to move the needle

You have a deep need to improve processes. You're not satisfied with manual operations, and you know how to spot an unorganised, inefficient process. You're proactive in leading internal changes that optimise the entire company's approach

You know how to balance multiple goals, tasks and priorities. You're comfortable when given more than one task, and you thrive when given the autonomy to execute

You're proactive. You're always on the front foot, pre-empting any issues or concerns with urgency and care

    Your Experience & Background

    Must-Have

You've recently graduated with a degree in Finance from a top-tier university

You achieved at least an A (or equivalent) in Mathematics during your GCSEs or A-levels (or equivalent)

You have a strong love of numbers, with a solid understanding of how numbers fit together and how formulas work

You enjoy working with Excel and can proficiently use input formulas and navigate the software with above-average skill

The salary band for this role is £20,000 - £30,000 + equity options. We'll consider where your experience falls within our framework. During our process, we'll take your studies, internships and capabilities into consideration and use our internal levelling to assess your salary at Odin.

    Becoming ACCA Qualified:

If you'd like to pursue this, we're committed to supporting you in obtaining your ACCA qualification while working with us.

We are a remote-first team that values face-to-face interactions to achieve our mission and bring out the best in each other. Whilst we expect this role to be predominantly remote, during onboarding, we would require some time spent with our team in person, and we'll put a plan in place to spend time together as a team on a regular cadence that encourages remote work and flexibility.

Our people-first environment supports our team in adopting a balanced way of working. Our teams work together to promote a culture that recognises your impact and supports your life outside work so you can bring your best to work.

    Our benefits include:

An equity option package so you can benefit from our success (you need skin in the game)

Flexible working to ensure you get the most optimal work and life balance

The best tech setup that gives you the right tools for the job

A benefits package including parental leave, cycle to work, learning and wellness budget, and private health care

The opportunity to join an early-stage tech company that is driving human progress

We're committed to removing invisible barriers. If there are any adjustments we can make to better support you, please let us know when you apply.

    Ready to apply?

At Odin, we truly value the power of diversity and inclusion. We warmly invite applications from individuals of every gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, and anything else that makes you who you are.
