    PURPOSE OF THE POST
    To be committed to achieving the highest level of Customer Service to the customers of Sci-Tech Laboratories by assisting in the receipt of samples and general administration jobs within the department, adhering at all times to the requirements of ISO 17025: 2017
    MAIN DUTIES
    1. To assist with consumable requests from customers, to be sent out the same day when required (Highbury/Lloyds etc)
    2. To be responsible for ensuring sufficient stock levels are maintained in the consumable shed and front office and to keep these areas clean and organised.
    3. To be responsible for purchase control and to ensure the suppliers product guide and quotations spreadsheet are updated and maintained.
    4. To perform the monthly stock check of all areas, update the stock spreadsheet and send this to the Purchase Control manager.
    5. To be responsible for sending off APHA Slopes every day.
    6. To assist with the registration of samples including sending sample queries to customers in an accurate and timely manner on Tuesdays and when are other staff are away or busy with other jobs which are priority.
    7. To deal with the management and direction of enquiries from both existing and potential customers.
    8. To assist with answering of phone calls when members of staff are unable to answer the phone.
    9. To amend reports when requested by the customer, noting that if a request is taken over the phone we need to ask the customer to send written confirmation of the request.
    10. To assist in sending out the Daily Notification Spreadsheets when members of staff are away or busy with other jobs which are priority.
    11. To assist with importing of results when these have been brought up to the office.
    12. To take responsibility for changing over the Server tape when other members of staff are away.

    Understanding of ISO17025
    Technical/Work-based Skills
    This relates to the skills specific to the job, e.g. language fluency, typing skills, etc.
    PC literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

    This relates to more general characteristics required to do the job effectively, e.g., effective written communication skills, ability to delegate, motivation or commitment etc.
    Able to identify needs and requirements to meet customer needs.
    Ability to work independently using good judgement, and as a team player.
    Exceptional organisational skills with a high consideration to detail and accuracy.
    Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills.

    Adept at time management and able to work with deadlines.
    Experience
    This is the proven record of experience and achievement in a field, profession, or specialism. This could include a minimum period of experience in a defined area of work (take care to ensure period stated is appropriate and not unnecessarily excessive)
    Minimum 1 year of relevant customer service experience.
    Proven experience within a similar customer-focused role.
    Working in a similar or comparable business/industry would be advantageous.
    Qualifications
    Please state the level of education and professional qualifications and/or specific occupational training required.
    GCSE passes or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
