    An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our friendly pharmacy department to join our team as a business support officer. The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the pharmacy business unit and Trust medicines safety group meetings, oversee the rostering of all pharmacy staff and monitor compliance against KPIs (key performance indicators).

    The post holder will support senior pharmacy leaders through the collation and interpretation of data relevant to the running of the pharmacy department. They will identify issues, formulate options appraisals, for consideration at the business unit meeting, and manage any resulting projects and action plans.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide administrative support to the Trust Medicines Safety Group -- liaising with the meeting chairperson and medicines safety officer to facilitate timely collation and distribution of papers, transcribing of minutes and chasing actions.

    To provide administrative support to the Pharmacy Business Unit meeting- liaising with the Chief pharmacist and other senior pharmacy leaders to agree an agenda, distribute papers, transcribe minutes and follow up on actions.

    To collate and analyse key performance data relevant to the pharmacy department, formulate options appraisals and manage any resulting projects and actions.

    To oversee the rostering of shifts and leave for the pharmacy team. Approving annual leave within agreed parameters, ensuring a consistent approach that enables all staff to take regular time off.

    Support line managers with the arrangement of appraisals and one to ones. To line manage the pharmacy administrator.

    To be responsible for the pharmacy intranet and internet pages, updating information as required.

    Person Specification Qualifications

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
    • GPhC recognised pharmacy qualification

    Experience

    • Evidence of continued learning and development
    • Experience in data management and analysis using Excel and other software
    • Experience of a range of computerised software including Microsoft Office and data management systems
    • Ability to manage Healthroster
    • Knowledge of patient systems
    • Knowledge and understanding of the data protection act
    • Ability to communicate across organisational boundaries
    • Ability to motivate staff
    • Excellent oral and written skills
    • Flexible and responsive to change
    • Ability to treat all employee and other hospital information confidentially
    • Ability to make decisions and work on own initiative
    • Ability to achieve results under pressure and be self-reliant
    • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to communicate information verbally which may be difficult/sensitive
    • Experience working in a pharmacy
