    Business Development Manager

    As a Barclays Business Development Manager, you will engage a broad portfolio of customers across franchise markets, acting and leading as a trusted partner to their business.

    This is an exciting opportunity to be accountable for increasing appeal to our franchisee business clients, through developing business propositions and providing financial solutions to your customers to help them grow, as well as connecting them to the expertise they search for.

    The hiring manager for the role will discuss the appropriate defined time in office for the role with you as part of the application process.

    At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.

    We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).

    Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

    Working in collaboration with colleagues across the Business Banking team, to ensure clients have access to the right expertise at key points in their business life cycle


    • Winning new business through engaging qualifying prospective customers and delivering outstanding service which highlights the Business Banking proposition
    • Acting as an influencer to others that will contribute in determining professional developments in specialist areas, ensuring business strategy is being met
    • Being responsible for the development of defined high value target segment business customers, working with key stakeholders to drive returns through new customer acquisition
    • Providing lending solutions of up to £1,000,000 and for establishing a network of key business introducers in local market
    • Networking to develop new contacts, develop new leads
    Demonstrable experience of business development


    • Clear grasp of credit writing and analysis

    • Excellent ability to build and foster new relationships at a senior level
    • Risk management experience
