    Business Applications & Data Manager

    Directorate: Regulation, Digital and Transformation

    Starting salary: £55,762 per annum

    Full time & Permanent

    Location: London

    Working at the Electoral Commission

    The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work to promote public confidence in the democratic process and to ensure its integrity.

    The Role

    To provide strategic direction for business applications and data management and development to meet the Commission's corporate and business objectives contained in the 5 Year Corporate Plan and the Digital, Data and Technology Strategy. To advise the Head of Digital, Data, Technology & Facilities on the roadmap for development of existing and new applications within the Commission and to take a leading role in delivering these projects.

    Includes management, user support and training for all applications including MS Dynamics 365 CRM, MS SharePoint Online and other applications built on custom platform. Working with the Information Management team to support users to make best and appropriate use of these applications to ensure efficiency in business processes and compliance with statutory requirements. Working closely with the IT helpdesk to provide an effective and responsive service to Commission users wherever they are working and to proactively engage with users to ensure applications are fit for purpose.

    Who we are looking for:

    • Operational Excellence - Previous experience in an Operations or Applications Management role focused on Enterprise IT applications like SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365, ERP systems. Must be comfortable with working across multiple work streams simultaneously.
    • Entrepreneurial "can-do approach" - Will be determined, creative, and resilient, with a strong work ethic. Will be highly resourceful and pragmatic and find a way to get to the right answer.
    • Commercial, analytic & strategic - Will have demonstrated previous success in working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. Will have superb communication and negotiation skills with an analytical mindset,
    • Management - Accomplishes objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating activities. Develops team members using different methods including on the job learning, coaching, and formal training.
