    Description
    RPS is looking for a Principal Planner to join our Planning team to be based in Cardiff or Bristol.

    Working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary services, the role will provide an opportunity to work on varied projects, providing you with rich experience in town planning across the region.

    Our projects include major planning applications dealing with residential mixed-use developments, helping our clients deliver major infrastructure projects (including renewable energy) through to supporting the delivery of office, retail or logistic schemes.

    With our planning service at the heart of the business, the role will provide a progressive step towards managing planning casework independently and helping towards defining a career pathway towards an Associate Director role.

    You'll be responsible for managing and overseeing client projects from commencement to completion and ensuring delivery is achieved to target.

    Supporting Planning Directors' in successfully delivering their planning caseload

    • Actively supporting our Senior Planners, Planners, Assistant Planners, Graduates and Apprentices
    • Contribute/ engage in our Prospects Planning Group
    • Taking a lead role, preparing bid proposals, supporting colleagues with tender submissions and helping them to deliver and manage projects
    • A passion for planning, development and environmental issues
    • A good working knowledge of planning policy
    • A keen eye on emerging planning policy
    • A market awareness and a good understanding of local planning issues
