- Provide mentoring, support and guidance to the HR Generalist
- Provide on-the-ground support for employment issues at every stage of the employee lifecycle and implementation of HR policies and practices as well as manage and consult on employee and labour relations.
- Conduct training and development programs; provide compensation/resourcing/talent assessment coaching services to managers
- Responsible for the development and implementation of relevant HR processes considering existing corporate policies and current legislation.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Ownership of projects on an ad-hoc basis such, annual performance reviews and engagement surveys.
- Liaise with People Operations colleagues to ensure activities are completed and data integrity is maintained within the HR master data system.
- Ensure that all working policies are in place, up to date and reviewed on an annual basis or as legislation dictates.
- Ensure HR compliance to Smiths quality standards and adherence to division/group policies/procedures/ code of ethics
- Accountable for HR audit compliance reporting and actions
- Manager coaching and lead on local led learning initiatives
- Induction of new employees/contractors
- Supporting HRBP's on local talent activities, talent process.
- Work with HRBP's with local reward, comp and benefits queries in conjunction with relevant reward partner.
- Work with employee forum
- Supporting lead HRBP with Early in Career
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or recognised qualification/certification in Human Resources desirable.
- Previous broad HR experience in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
- Previous experience of working within a matrix environment is an advantage
- Working knowledge of UK employment legislation.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and HR management systems.
- Proactive approach and proven experience in continuous improvement and process ownership.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to plan own work within agreed deadlines, meeting objectives in specified time frame
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
