    Description

    Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Transactional Finance – Senior Operational Lead on a 3-6 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

    The role is part time – 3 days/week.

    To provide senior management support to the head of service for the operational delivery of accounts payable and receivable for the client.

    To support the management of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking functions are managed to perform effectively and efficiently within the FCP&P, meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.

    To support the management of the client's sundry debt programme and management of payments of SAP AR invoices totalling £620m in year.

    To oversee the operational administration of the client's SAP master data and user management functions and services.
    To provide support for the implementation of a new staffing structure.

    To lead on the development of long term strategies for future improvements and developments to financial control & processing.

    Relevant degree or MAAT or CCAB qualification and / or work experience of at least equivalent level
    Knowledge of relevant aspects of local government finance including local authority accounting
    Extensive knowledge of change management and service development techniques, preferably gained in a Local Government environment.
    Financial planning – Provision of financial information to inform effective decision making including ensuring the effective maintenance of financial records to support this – Financial monitoring, forecasting and reporting – Financial administration – Staff management
