    Junior Category Management Specialist

    As a Junior Category Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving our marketing strategy at the category level. Your main objective will be to enhance the profitability of our retail locations by boosting product sales volume within assigned categories and optimizing inventory turnover rates. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will serve as an expert in merchandising, pricing, management, and sales within your designated product categories. This is a Direct Hire opportunity located near Lincolnshire, IL. Responsibilities:
    • Develop and execute marketing programs, including promotions, pricing strategies, product mix, and merchandising initiatives.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and implement effective merchandising strategies.
    • Communicate inventory management and sales audit policies to store teams.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related issues and collaborate with operations and marketing teams to ensure effective merchandising execution.
    • Innovate new marketing techniques and identify opportunities to enhance category profitability.
    • Analyze promotional effectiveness and develop cross-category promotions to maximize sales and margin.
    • Develop product mix and planograms to optimize sales and adjust pricing strategies as needed.
    • Implement programs to minimize product waste and support Pricebook-related projects as required.
    • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, strategic initiative, and effective communication at all levels.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
    • 1-2 years of retail vendor management, marketing, and merchandising experience strongly preferred.
    • Gas station/convenience store experience is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite and analytical tools.
    • Strategic thinker with strong data analysis and forecasting abilities.
    • Exceptional people skills with a focus on customer service.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Commitment to upholding company standards in personal appearance, work ethic, and customer service.

    • Pay is $55k- $65k depending on experience
