    Description
    | Job Purpose/Summary :

    To recruit, induct and coach a team of volunteers to access training and support, enabling them to utilise their skills in our Warehouse or by delivering children and family support services in their communities.

    To monitor and evaluate progress and development needs and tailor accordingly. Providing opportunities that will build confidence raise self- esteem, increase skills and aspirations. Encouraging the take up of volunteering placements, training courses in the community and work experience.
    Responsibilities

    Recruitment:
    Take the lead in recruiting volunteers for our 3 Cwtches and Cwtch Mawr project. Capture initial needs and barriers that potential volunteers may face. ensure the best match between the skills, qualifications and interests of the volunteer and the needs of the community. Direct volunteers to suitable partner projects when necessary.

    Onboarding:
    Conduct volunteer interviews, complete necessary paperwork, and oversee ID checks for DBS clearance. Facilitate comprehensive induction training sessions for new volunteers. Build rapport. Support staff to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers and recognise the difference they make.

    Training Support:
    Assist volunteers in accessing essential training courses and identify opportunities for further education and skill development.

    Ongoing Support:
    Provide continuous support to volunteers during their placements, focusing on integration, confidence building, and skill enhancement. Offer empathetic assistance to volunteers navigating personal challenges.

    Appreciation and Recognition:
    Organise volunteer appreciation events and ensure regular acknowledgment of volunteers' contributions. Oversee volunteer expense claims in accordance with organisational policies.

    Supervision:

    Conduct monthly supervisory meetings with volunteers to foster a sense of investment, provide constructive feedback, and offer additional support as needed.

    Support individuals to draw up their own goals and aims using coaching methods, into a work plan that will be reviewed regularly.


    Evaluate risks:

    Do so based on each volunteer position and ensure that volunteers are working in a safe, healthy and supportive environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations and company policies and procedures.


    Reporting:
    Prepare reports on activity to stakeholders as appropriate.


    Community Coordination:

    Community Events:

    Collaborate with all Cwtch projects and external partners to conceptualise and execute events, primarily aimed at addressing hardship through the distribution of resources from Cwtch Mawr.


    Training Collaboration:

    Partner with the Training and Development Worker to ensure volunteers receive appropriate training conducive to skill development and potential employment opportunities.


    Community Sessions:

    Work alongside the Senior Child and Family Worker and the Child and Families Worker team to organise and support volunteer-led community sessions.

    These sessions should aim to enrich the experiences of families and children facing hardship while providing valuable opportunities for community engagement.

    Qualifications | Education & Qualifications | Essential
    Bachelor's degree in social work, Community Development, Education, or a related field preferred Volunteer Coordinator training | Desirable
    | Technical Competence | Essential | Proven IT skills, use of social media and engagement tools Proficient understanding of DBS checks and volunteer recruitment procedures. Basic graphic design skills advantageous
    | Experience | Essential | Previous experience in volunteer management, community coordination, or related roles is advantageous.
    Experience in volunteering locally.
    Experience in recruiting through various channels.
    Experience of leading and managing people and performance related issues
    Ability to manage a budget on a daily basis.
    Developing robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes
    Direct experience of organising and co-ordinating workloads

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for effective engagement with volunteers and community members.
    Ability to plan and execute community events and sessions, with adept budget management skills.

    To have skills in supervision and management
    Ability to prepare and complete concise, clear reports/records on work undertaken.
    Ability to plan work to deadlines and work unsupervised within the agreed framework.

    Ability to prioritise work according to need.
    Ability to work under pressure and be resilient.
    Ability to work as a positive and constructive team member and to facilitate/attend team meetings.
    Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
    A commitment to Health and Safety at work, including lone working.
    Computer literate and familiar with systems used in the department.
    Experience of multi-agency working

    Holiday entitlement that increases with length of service to a maximum of 33 days plus 8 bank holidays (based on full time equivalent of 37 hours per week).

    Sickness pay that increases with length of service to a maximum of 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay.
