    Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values.     We are seeking a Licensing Officer to join our busy Licensing Section. Working with other Licensing Officers and reporting to the Licensing Team Leader, this role will assist in the facilitating and issuing of a number of different types of licence.

    The Licensing team is responsible for a variety of licensing functions, including Alcohol and Entertainment, Taxi and Private Hire Licensing, Gambling, Scrap Metal, Sex Entertainment Venues, Street Trading and Pavement Licenses.

    This role will include:

    • Assessing licensing applications
    • Conducting background checks
    • Verifying documents
    • Issuing licences
    • Taking payments and chasing fees
    • Booking vehicles in for inspection
      • Liasing with licence holders

        We are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills, who can prioritise and organise their own workload, enjoys a challenge, and is confident in challenging situations.

        Experience of working in an administrative role is essential.

        It will be an advantage for you to have licensing experience however, for suitable candidates training can be provided.

        You will have or need to develop a good understanding of local authority licensing legislation, interpret legislation and guidance. You will give advice and take appropriate action based on the correct legislation, licence conditions and guidance.

        The nature of the post offers a flexibility to work both from home and an office, subject to service demands.
