Lecturer in Hospitality, Events and Tourism Management - London, United Kingdom - London College of Contemporary Arts
Description
Who we are:
London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) is a dedicated institution of creative business, with one of the specialisations being hospitality management programmes, where we foster the entrepreneurial and leadership spirit in our students
With LCCA's pedagogic approach to experiential blended learning, coupled with our broad network of industry connections and aided by our association with University of the Creative Arts (UCA) including, various well-established industry brands, we empower our students to get a real-world learning experience by working within the business world or creative industries and shaping a career in the sector.
At the very heart of our vision is a student-centred learning and teaching methodology which is progressive, forward-thinking, modern, and designed to meet our learners' needs.
LCCA courses are unique in that, they may be taught across the week (in the day); in two evenings in the week and at the weekend and follow a blended learning approach. We currently have full-time and part-time, evenings and weekend-only opportunities available that can be discussed at the interview to match against your preference and lifestyle
What we offer our colleagues:
LCCA is part of Global University Systems (GUS) which is an international network of higher-education institutions brought together by a shared passion for accessible, industry-relevant qualifications. Our institutional culture was built upon our history and values. Our shared values – student, focus, communication, collaboration, respect, competence, entrepreneurship, and integrity – are more than aspiration. We display and expect these beliefs and behaviours from our colleagues equally.
The Role
At LCCA, we've had huge uptake in student numbers and this demand had led us to adopt a 7- day operational model of working. As such, we're looking for lecturers across a range of modes – daytime, evenings, and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). We are more than happy to consider working patterns to suit individual needs.
We are looking for individuals who are progressive, forward-thinking and engage in innovative teaching methods, including blended learning and chunk experiential learning.
You will be able to combine traditional classroom teaching with digital tools to engage our diverse range of student in their learning journey
You will have experience of the hospitality industry and be able to work across both analogue and digital formats and be able to communicate a broad range of practical and theoretical issues through hands on teaching and workshops. You will have great industry connections and be willing to inspire and motivate students through this expertise. Experience of academic and administrative management is desirable.
You will have a good honours and master's degree and recent experience of Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) teaching, and detailed knowledge of contemporary practice within one or more subject area – tourism, events, and hospitality.
Please note: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Only applicants shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
It's quick and easy to apply for a role at LCCA. Just click on the apply button above. All you'll need is an up-to-date CV outlining your interest in the role and how you meet the role's criteria.
We acknowledge receipt of your resume for a position at LCCA and sincerely appreciate your interest in our company. We will screen all applicants and select candidates whose qualifications meet our requirements. We will carefully consider your application during the initial screening and will contact you if you are selected to continue for the next stage of the recruitment process. We wish you every success.
LCCA is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion or belief.
