    Description

    Job Description: We're thrilled to present an opportunity for a Service Transition Manager! This position, with a fixed-term contract until July 2026, is based in Birmingham, offering a hybrid work setup.

    This role entails overseeing the transition and release of critical modules within a new system into operational support. The ideal candidate should have:

    • Professional qualification or relevant degree with substantial experience in transition management, or significant on-the-job experience in this domain.

    Key requirements and responsibilities:

    • Strong people and Service Management skills.
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying and implementing solutions in the service area.
    • Hands-on experience in leading and shaping transitions into operational service, ensuring effective handover to support teams and Service owners.
    • Proficiency in ITIL Design and Transition processes, including Change Management, as well as Operation Support/Application Support and Service Ownership.
    • Experience in release coordination, service take-on and transition projects, with knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project delivery, Service and support initiation.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with innovative and critical thinking to drive process improvement.
    • Assuring appropriate training and knowledge transfers to embed services within support teams.
    • Ownership of release calendars, ensuring releases align with business needs while mitigating risks.
    • Leading a standardized approach for introducing new/amended applications or infrastructure into operational support.
    • Collaborating with IT Services operational teams to define support requirements.
    • Coordinating knowledge transfer activities and integrating them into the Training Plan to ensure operational success.
    • Providing insights into issues and risks during transition and data migration.
    • Planning and coordinating implementation for complex change requests.
    • Evaluating risks to service integrity in proposed implementations, seeking authority for activities and reviewing change effectiveness.
    • Organizing individual or team activities to achieve defined objectives.
    • Effective stakeholder communication at all levels, understanding requirements, delivering solutions, and offering guidance.
