Description
Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Finance Assistant on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
To assist the Senior Accountant with all aspects of budgeting, financial control, closing of accounts, maintenance of accounting systems and advice to other departments.
Assist in the preparation of the final accounts in accordance with accounting standards, providing reasons for all significant variances from approved budgets.
Assist in the preparation of monthly budget monitoring reports to Directorate and Departmental Management Teams, Chief Officers and Members.
Maintenance of the financial systems including budget input, budget adjustments, journal transfers, bank reconciliations, code maintenance, etc.Provide financial advice to departmental officers.
Minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths and English.
Preferably AAT qualified or actively studying for a financial qualification
Knowledge of the principles of accounting, budgeting and budgetary control.
Local Authority Experience
