- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) qualification

- Proven ability to effectively use data (including public health data), intelligence and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision making.
- Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people).
- Knowledge of statutory legislation (for example Childrens Act) and national policy drivers that will affect childrens services and your role, for example: Healthy Child Programme, Family Hubs and Best Start in Life programme.
- A proven track record as a successful strategic leader within the public sector, with direct experience of leading the providing of services for children and families and working effectively with commissioners.
- Experience of addressing specific equality or diversity issues within your practice.
- Some experience of working with Family Hubs and with schools is desirable.

This is a new post an offers an exciting opportunity to join our Early Help team.
The successful post holder will operationally manage the Health Visiting service and provide public health oversight and direction in the Family Hub.
Main duties of the job
This is a new, high profile post, where the post holder will be required to act as operational lead for the Health Visiting team and oversee the public health element of the Family Hub, schools workshops, transition to parenthood and healthy relationships. All interventions will be quality assured and monitored to ensure they are informed by a robust evidence base and are aligned with guidance from National Institute For Clinical Excellence (NICE) or equivalent. They will also be based on the health needs of the children and families in the Borough and the annual priorities identified. The post holder will have experience of driving successful outcomes around key performance indicators.
The post holder will lead on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years, working in partnership with children, young people, their families, the wider multi-agency teams, the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and commissioners. This includes the assessment and support of vulnerable children, including those within the Safeguarding arena. The post holder will provide professional and clinical supervisory support to the Team Leads in the service. There is an expectation of a high level of work related pressure in terms of deadlines, conflicting priorities, problem-solving and team management roles. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with the Hub Manager to develop and deliver through the Family Hub Teams the Public Health programmes.
