    Company Description

    Sarrani is a small but thriving construction company specialising in insurance repairs, looking to bring someone in with a high level of analytical and estimating skills to assist with costing our projects.

    Role Description

    As as Estimator based from home, you must be a conscientious, enthusiastic, driven cost setter with an eye for numbers and a 'can do' attitude. You must be a strong team player, capable of managing multiple tasks, using your own initiative and able to communicate effectively at all levels. Experience in dealing with insurance repairs is highly desirable. Experience in pricing construction projects is essential.

    Main Duties

    · Review scopes of work for small-to-medium size building projects using a various in-house resources and sound knowledge of market level pricing;

    · Prepare quotations, budgets and tender returns for medium-size building projects;

    · Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved and tender complexity;

    · Research material and labour costs to ensure accurate and fair pricing at all times;

    · Maintain company price list;

    · Provide support to internal staff regarding cost queries throughout the work process;

    · Track live project costs and variations against budget, producing reports as required;

    · Prepare interim valuations;

    · Ensure minimum profitability levels are maintained;

    · Monitor and report relevant management information;

    · Assist with other ad hoc tasks from time to time as required.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    · Ideally possessing a numerate or construction qualification to HND level or equivalent, gained in the UK;

    · Proven ability to work under pressure, use initiative and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines;

    · Proven track record in cost/pricing management within the construction industry;

    · Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer-focused environment;

    · Excellent personal organisation and business administration skills;

    · Willingness to learn, improve and adapt;

    · Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office applications - Outlook, Excel & Word;

    · Experience in the construction sector, ideally including dealing with insurance repairs;

    · In-depth understanding of construction methodologies and pricing;

    · Ability to read and understand technical drawings;

    · A positive can-do attitude;

    · A positive outlook towards teamwork;

    · Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;

    · Valid UK driving licence

    Location

    Ideally located in Greater London or Home Counties.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
