St Mary's Catholic High School is an 11-16, co-educational, comprehensive school based in the heart of Croydon. It has been serving the local community since its foundation in 1851. The school prides itself on its diverse and harmonious school community, where students feel safe and well cared for, with leaders who expect all pupils to achieve highly, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and speakers of other languages who are beginning to learn English. Our school is in a well-connected location, just a few minutes' walk from East and West Croydon Stations and other local transport hubs connecting the region.

We are looking to appoint someone who is passionate about teaching high quality lessons while nurturing and inspiring our students. As a core subject in the school, you will be joining a team that enthuse and motivate students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment in line with the core principles of our Mission Statement. As a teacher of Religious Education teacher you will also make a significant contribution to the Catholic Life and Mission of our school.
Our teachers have the highest expectations of – and for – our students, and are committed to instilling a love of reading and learning in order to create independent, inquisitive and critical thinkers, who are able to make connections and draw links across their learning journey.
In the summer of 2022, the school achieved an excellent set of examination GCSE results, with a Progress 8 score well above both the local and national average.
In November 2021, Ofsted rated the school as Good, stating: 'St Mary's Catholic High School is a deeply caring community.
