- Develop and implement global EHS policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Direct the overall regional support strategy, leveraging opportunities to enhance EHS compliance program effectiveness and improve risk mitigation
- Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals across the region, providing guidance and support to enhance compliance and performance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and risk reduction
- Monitor and report on EHS metrics, incidents, and trends to senior leadership and regulatory agencies
- Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and standards, adapting policies and practices, as necessary
- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs to employees at all levels
- Provide support with Customer audits, customer presentations and Request-for-Information (RFIs)
- Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in EHS, offering recommendations to streamline processes and resolve complex EHS issues
- Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential EHS risks and non-compliance issues
- Supervises the planning, execution, and coordination of the annual EHS audit and assessment program (both internal and external) within the regions
- Establishes and sustains audit criteria and controls, aligning them with industry standards, Equinix policies, and best practices
- Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization
- Responsible for EHS vendor management
- Bachelor's degree in EHS related subject or Engineering
- Qualified in safety to national country level
- Certified Lead Auditor in ISO14001, ISO45001 or ISO50001
- Extensive experience in leading EHS compliance and management systems (10 years+) in in critical process industries such as data centre, IT, telecommunication, airlines, or other industrial environments
- Proven experience in implementing ISO14001, ISO45001 across multiple sites. ISO50001 is desirable and policy development
- Excellent leadership, communication, planning and collaboration skills
- Proven track record in implementing and managing EHS compliance programs
- Expert knowledge level of EHS and energy regulatory, risk and compliance requirements as related to data centre operations
- Ability to sort through complex technical issues and implement innovative solutions to resolve difficult problems
- Proactive and with good analytical skills and problem-solving mind-set
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Resilient, agile, decisive, and culturally aware Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities
- Must be able to travel internationally, up to 25%
