    ~ The Orkney Native Wildlife Project is looking for a motivated senior administrator and office manager who can supportthe project team in the Kirkwall office to facilitate delivery of the work programme and ensure an effectiveoffice working environment.

    The Orkney Native Wildlife Project started in 2018 and is a partnership between RSPB Scotland, Nature Scot and OrkneyIslands Council.

    Its purpose is to work with local communities and landowners to undertake the world's largeststoat eradication operation and safeguard the unique and internationally important native wildlife of Orkney.

    To make a success of this opportunity, you will be a capable senior administrator with the ability to work well witha broad range of people, whilst having strong office management skills to ensure the smooth running of theteam.

    Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and EU LIFE alongside partner contributions the project is now ina key implementation stage and we are looking for a strong administrator who can support the busy team.

    Provide comprehensive business administrative support to the project team, including financial processes, traveland accommodation, events, organising and maintaining materials and equipment, diary bookings and maintainingSharePoint websites.

    Provide a dedicated administrative support service to the steering group, projectboard and Technical advisory group, including diary management, drafting letters and other communications,organising travel, accommodation and meetings
    Oversee the day-to-day management ofthe office environment to ensure the office is an efficient, effective and safe place to work
    Respond toand manage with unplanned office maintenance issues and breakdowns as quickly and efficiently as possible toensure core work is not affected, and to keep staff informed of issues and timescales forrectification
    Maintain asset registers
    Manage office/reception functions, to ensure adequatecover is in place and that a professional service is provided to staff, volunteers and visitors

    Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Teams,SharePoint), plus the ability to impart this knowledge on to others.

    Able to communicate effectivelywith a wide range of audiences whether by phone, email or in person.
    Experience of office management and maintaining a safe workingenvironment.
    This role is based on Orkney, within the Orkney Native Wildlife Project office in Kirkwall.

    The RSPB reserves theright to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the endof the contract term.

    As Biosecurity and Conservation Detection Dog Manager, you will be a confident and capable individual with a strongbackground in invasive species management, ideally on islands, with excellent organisational and strategicplanning skills and an ability to coordinate work across multiple sites and islands.

    Funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund (NHLF), EU LIFE and NatureRestoration Fund alongside partner contributions, the project is now in a key implementation stage and we arelooking for a passionate and motivated individual to lead the delivery of the Biosecurity and ConservationDetection Dog Activities for the Orkney Native Wildlife Project.

    Working closely with the Eradication Operations Manager you will manage a Conservation Detection Dog team to ensurethe successful delivery of the eradication of stoats in Orkney, prevent their spread to small islands withinOrkney and put in place biosecurity measures to prevent their return to Orkney.

    You will work with islandcommunities to continue the implementation of island-specific, community-led biosecurity plans for high riskislands that are currently stoat free.

    You will keep our stakeholders engagedand involved during and beyond the lifetime of the project.

    You will coordinate an already establishedBiosecurity Working Group and work together to facilitate the implementation of a biosecurity strategy for theOrkney archipelago.

    You will be familiar with, and experienced in, the use of common island biosecuritysurveillance tools and use of conservation detection dogs.

    Continue the implementation of island-specific community-led biosecurity plans for high risk islands which arecurrently stoat free.

    Coordinate the Biosecurity Working Group and work together tofacilitate the implementation of a biosecurity strategy for the Orkney archipelago.

    Coordinate and leada team of conservation dog handlers to carry out eradication and biosecurity actions asrequired.
    Oversight and management of team budget working with project Finance Officer
    Experience of working with conservation dogs or detection dogs.
    Experience offacilitating workshops and engaging local communities
    Experience of working in remote and diverse island communities is desirable.

    The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without furtheradvertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.

    The Campaigns and Communications Officer role is a great opportunity to use your communications skills and knowledgeof policy in Scotland to help tackle the nature and climate emergency.

    The campaigns team works across the organisation andwith external coalitions and partners to build broad public support for our policy priorities.

    Forthcoming policy priorities include legislation aimed at restoring biodiversity.

    The successful candidate willcoordinate internal and external stakeholders and support the development and implementation of activitydesigned to mobilise people for nature and climate.

    This is a fixed-term role which would make an excellent secondment opportunity. Experience of relationship-building with internal and externalnetworks.
    Ability to plan, prioritise and project manage.
    Monitoring and evaluation of campaignsand communication activities to determine reach and impact, including on social media.
    Good understanding of the policy and political landscapes in Scotland and the UK.
    Event management for virtual events, such as webinars.
