    Role Summary:

    Objectives and Responsibilities:
    Inspect, maintain and upgrade existing MOCVD systems at customers' premises.
    Provide training to customers, as well as other engineers.
    Support the customer in running the tool
    Self-sufficiently run the tool in close alignment with our application lab.
    Provide feedback to internal engineering teams on existing and new prototype systems, to guide future development.


    Qualifications and Experience:
    Degree / HND / HNC (or equivalent) in engineering or science disciplines, with a strong background in semiconductor.
    Preference for candidates with experience in vacuum, pneumatic, semiconductor process.
    Being able to speak a European language (eg. German) would be an advantage.
    Able to work independently on site with customers, be adaptable and resourceful at problem solving whilst under pressure.
    Capable of and interested by learning new technology in a short time.
    Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.

    Working conditions / Environment:

    Be eligible to work in the UK, with a full UK driving licence and be able to travel extensively around the UK and to countries covered by the AIXTRON Europe Customer Service team.

    Also be able to travel to AIXTRON SE in Germany for training on various products.

    Although AIXTRON Ltd is based in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire, UK, this person may also be remotely based in the UK.

    AIXTRON is a world leading manufacturer of semiconductor equipment and at our facility in Cambridgeshire we manufacture key MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition) systems for the group.

    Our MOCVD systems are used to produce (opto) electronics for 5G, fibre communications, lasers, LEDs for displays and power electronics for electric vehicles and chargers.
