    Description

    Who we're looking for

    A VAT Tax Manager to contribute on a range of tax compliance and advisory matters, relating to our EMEA businesses, working with other members of the Group Tax function, and as well as colleagues in other functions.

    The main area of focus will be VAT. However, it is expected that the role would also encompass other tax-related responsibilities, potentially including involvement in transfer pricing, corporate income taxes, withholding tax, employment tax and Country-by-Country-Reporting regimes. This role would suit someone looking to broaden their tax knowledge beyond VAT, with a view to developing into a more senior regional role.

    We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.

    The team

    Group Tax is made up of a team of 33 tax professionals based in London, Zurich, Singapore, New York and Luxembourg. They work closely with all areas of the business providing advice and assistance on tax-related matters. They also undertake or provide oversight for the Group's tax compliance obligations globally, manage relationships with tax authorities and assist with various forms of tax and financial reporting.

    What you'll do


    • Assist in the completion of the Group's VAT returns across the EMEA region.

    • Assist with the preparation of related Transfer Pricing documentation.

    • Engage with colleagues across the EMEA region to understand their businesses and support their growth and development. Provide tax advice and support to enable informed planning and decision making.

    • Stay abreast of developments in market practice, legislation and regulation and work with colleagues across our business to understand and address the impact of tax changes.

    • Work with local management, other members of Group Tax and tax advisors to identify and, where appropriate, take advantage of potential tax efficiencies and ensure all tax risks are understood and managed effectively.

    • Assisting on other tax-related matters relating to our EMEA businesses

    • Project based work to cover process and system enhancements, business developments and corporate development activities.

    • Use of Alteryx, Power BI and other technologies to support compliance, data analysis, workflow management or other day-to-day tasks.

    The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need


    • Experience of VAT compliance and advisory (UK and/or Europe) and accounting

    • Experience of transfer pricing

    • Experience of working in financial services and/or international tax

    • Experience of HFM/Oracle Fusion accounting systems

    • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. tax or accountancy).

    • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
