    Description
    Ensuring strong governance processes underlying the work of IMarEST committees;
    Ensuring robust protocols for regulatory work in Intergovernmental organisations;
    Assuring the long-term sustainability of the Institute by delivering valued services to existing members and recruiting new members;
    Supporting the President and other office holders;
    Maintaining robust HR processes to ensure high performance.
    Branch office holders and committees;
    Industry, academic and training organisations;

    The new Chief Executive must have outstanding written and spoken English skills and the capability to communicate to different audiences, where some people are non-native English speakers, and to present to large audiences with the ability to stay on message with the press and media.

    Building relationships with key stakeholders is the key part of the role and the ideal candidate must have the skills to keep a range of participants with differing points of view engaged in discussions and persuade them to come to a common understanding and approach to solving issues.

    Held a leadership position in an international membership or marine related organisation;
    Experience in, knowledge of, or passion for the marine sector; A network of contacts within the marine sector;

    Board room presence:
    the ability to interact with high level contacts and build consensus on long-term strategy, to initiate the appropriate tactical and operational actions for the Institute;
