    Salary : £50,000 to £60,000

    Hybrid : 2 days a week in the office (Tuesday and Thursday) WC1X 0BJ

    About the Role:

    We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our UK Finance Team. The successful candidate will be hands-on in managing and maintaining the accounting and finance activities of multiple subsidiaries (UK and Cyprus)

    The primary focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintaining financial records, controlling the accounts, and adhering to accounting principles, and complying with regulatory requirements.

    This role will also contribute to the preparation of financial statements, analysing financial data and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision). This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, auditors, and external stakeholders to maintain financial transparency, mitigate risks, and drive financial efficiency within the organisation.

    The role will be committed to upholding the highest standards of financial management and contributing to the overall success and growth of the company and will report to the Financial Controller.

    Accountability and Responsibilities:

    Financial Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and financial statements.
  • Working closely with the accounts payable team to overview the integrity of invoicing processes.
  • Managing intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide insights and explanations for variances and trends in financial performance.
  • Reconciliation:

  • Perform regular reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Audit Support:

  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
  • Keeping the monthly reporting works and controlling folders up-to-date and ready for annual audit.
  • Keeping the communication with the external auditors.
  • Investigate the accounts in detail and prepare necessary presentation
  • Provide necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function.
  • Implement and streamline financial processes for increased efficiency.
  • Tax Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws that may affect the organisation.
  • Knowledge and Skills:

    Educational Background:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. Accounting qualification or part-qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Drive to stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including journal entries and ledgers.
  • Reconciliation Skills:

  • Ability to perform reconciliations of financial accounts, collect back-ups of numbers in the financials to prove the accuracy of the financial statements presentation, and resolve discrepancies, if necessary.
  • Accounting Principles:

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and skills in financial analysis to interpret trends, identify variances, and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Taxation Knowledge: Nice to have

  • Understanding of tax laws and regulations relevant to the organisation, including the ability to prepare and file tax returns.
  • Audit Experience: Nice to have

  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes and the ability to assist in audit preparations.
  • Interview Process:

  • Talent Screen - (40 mins video call) Our Talent and People Partner Izzy Johnstone will be asking around your finance experience, some competency style questions (Teamwork and communication skills) and what you understand about Gett
  • Hiring Manager - (1 hour video call) Here you will meet Taylan Sahin (UK Financial Controller) and your manager He will deep dive into your experience in relation to the role. You will also have time to ask questions to Taylan, so have them prepared
  • Task (Via Zoom 45mins) Here we will want to test your analytical skills. We have prepared data on an excel sheet and it will be a live task (task includes multiple choice questions and creating a financial statement exercise) Taylan will send over a link to the excel sheet where you will have 10-15 minutes to have a look over and then the remainder of the time to complete the task.
  • Peer Review (1hr video call)- This is a skill based interview. Yuliya Kiryukhina (Financial Accountant)will be taking part in this interview. She will be asking questions that assess needed competencies for the role such as: Time management, Working in ambiguous environments, proactiveness and detail orientation
  • Please Note: To give you an idea of how long the process could take, I typically estimate 1 week per interview due to diary management - if we can fit 2 interviews in 1 week we will try
