    Description

    Job Description:

    London Underground (LU) is the world's oldest metro systems and with customer demand at its highest level ever, one of the big challenges that we face is to replace the ageing infrastructure whilst keeping four million people moving every single day.

    You will lead and control a team to administer and supervise work delivery for Point Care works.

    In doing so ensuring to maintain safety and quality in accordance with LUL processes and standards to maintain safety of line and signalling systems.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Control of work to ensure effective performance and compliance to standards, giving technical guidance to direct staff including apprentices and contracted staff.

    Use IT systems as necessary to interrogate for information on defects, work load and report on completed works, outstanding or deferred.

    Use plant and equipment correctly and escalate defective or broken items to management

    Allocate jobs from the work bank and submit into the planning process to ensure safe and reliable asset performance.

    – Reprioritise work as necessary.
    Liaise with LUL operational staff, statutory authorities and other interested third parties/stakeholders
    Hold and maintain once held all appropriate licenses – IRSE and
    Plan and co-ordinate works within the railway
    Lead technical investigations of failures as directed by management

    Supervise / monitor all planned works to ensure safety of railway is maintained and works are undertaken to the approved designs in accordance with HSE legislation & LUL standards / procedures.

    Maintain the computerised asset management system to ensure that the work bank accurately reflects the current asset condition.
    Undertake duties of all Technician Grades as may reasonably be required by the management.

    Submit timely and accurate reports for outputs, accidents, delays and investigations, collate and retain inspection reports to provide the necessary assurance.

    Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure (Essential)
    Ability to demonstrate a proven record of competence as a Technical Officer. (Essential)
    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills (Essential)
    Experience of installation of P&C in a variety of methodologies and use of specialist plant (Essential)
    Previous Point Care experience. (Desirable)
    Ability to hold regular meetings with team members in order to review progress. Analyses all elements of performance and gives regular communication to develop and improve delivery. (Essential)
    Ability to work as part of a small multi-skilled production team (Essential)
    Proven skills in leading high performing teams and to influence and engage a workforce with diverse skills and experience (Essential)
    Demonstrable experience in organising and leading teams/staff, plant and equipment for closure works or similar activities. (Essential)
    Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to changing priorities and objectives whilst maintaining a high deliverable output. (Essential)
    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written (Essential)

    Experience in leading, supervising and taking accountability for Point Care works in delivering and driving improvements in performance, reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and cost.
