    Head of Employee Relations - London, United Kingdom - Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director of People, the Head of Employee Relations has responsibility and accountability for all employee relations activity within MSF UK. They will lead on the creation and delivery of people practices which develop and maintain positive working relationships between MSF UK and its employees. This includes UK office staff, internationally mobile staff, and hosted contracts where MSF UK hosts on behalf of another MSF entity. Key duties are as follows:

    • Establish an effective approach to employee relations at MSF UK and play a leading role in the development of a culture where poor performance and behaviour is addressed, and a safe organisational.
    • Clarify the roles of employee relations and safeguarding and ensure this is reflected in policies and ways of working in practice.
    • Lead on the provision of an effective approach to well-being for all MSF UK staff, ensuring that suitable and robust framework are in place to enable line managers to support the wellbeing of their staff effectively.
    • Develop and deliver training to line managers on managing performance, holding difficult conversations, carrying out investigations, and other employee relations topics and employment legislation.
    • Act as a subject of matter expert and advise on the most complex and contentious employee relations with line managers, coordinate the organisation's response to legal cases brought by individuals, contribute to the preparation of legal submissions and ensure all parties complete casework accurately and within deadlines.
    • Advise leaders and line managers on implementing effective change management including the writing of robust rationale, effective consultation and redeployment practices and handling complex issues.
    • Developing relationships with key contacts across the wider MSF movement, implementing an effective approach and support to hosted contracts and international mobile staff.
    • Responsibility for the provision and implementation of policies and procedures within the employee relations remit, providing specialist advice and ensuring legal compliance whilst also fostering a positive culture.
    • Develop and implement an effective approach to collecting, analysing and reporting data from individuals leaving MSF UK.
