    JOB PURPOSEThis is an exciting opportunity for a candidate eager to help leading companies and governments transition to a low carbon, sustainable future by collecting, analyzing and delivering the data and insights that our clients need to navigate this change.

    We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced candidate who will be responsible for the collection, analysis and delivery of battery raw material demand data and forecasts.

    Your efforts will make a real difference in helping Fastmarkets to achieve its ambitious growth plans and grow the Renewable Energy practice.

    The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment, have a can-do attitude, advice and can juggle a wide variety of tasks and projects.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES To support forecasts of battery raw materials:

    Collect, maintain, and produce demand data on the raw materials necessary for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage systems (ESS) battery production, including lithium, cobalt, manganese, graphite and nickelDeconstruct aggregate demand and vehicle sales data by region and end-use (e.g.

    , BEVs, PHEVs, commercial vehicles, 2 and 3-wheelers)

    Utilize macro and micro economic data that impacts demand forecasts for EV, ESS and associated battery raw materialsMonitor and assess how policy support and regulatory changes effect demand for EV and ESSCollect data on EV and ESS battery chemistry market shares by region, and monitor innovation in battery technologiesCo-develop forecast model(s) with BRM analystsPrepare, calculate, maintain and update short-term, medium-term and long-term forecast modelsMaintain databases and update forecast models as requiredTo provide support for external and internal users of Fastmarkets' forecasts of battery raw materials:

    Assist the forecast and analytics team with content for subscription and consulting projectsSupport the product team's development of forecast productsDemand data contributions for presentations at industry events and forumsEngagement with clientsKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSStrong data identification and acquisition expertise conducted via primary and secondary researchExperience with foundational analytical skills: modelling, statistics and managing dataForecast model developmentProficiency with Microsoft, data analysis and forecast modeling applications2-4 years of relevant data collection, analysis and demand forecasting experience, including internship(s)Preference for previous experience in battery, battery raw materials, electric vehicles, energy storage systems markets and/or industrial manufacturingOur valuesFastmarkets people come from all different walks of life.
